SRC Employee Owners to be Honored in SBJ's 40 Under 40

On March 21, 2019, Springfield Business Journal will be honoring the 2019 40 Under 40 class at an awards ceremony and reception at the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center. Since its establishment in 1999, the program has annually honored 40 accomplished and continually rising professionals in southwest Missouri for both their professional and civic work.

SBJ announced their 2019 40 Under 40 class in this past December. On the list of 2019 honorees are James Wilson, General Manager at NewStream Enterprises, and Mike White, Director of Operations at SRC Logistics.

James Wilson began his career with SRC in 2005 at the age of 25 as a customer service specialist for NewStream Enterprises (NSE). Over the past 14 years, Wilson moved into the supply chain department and now serves as General Manager for NSE.

Wilson is currently overseeing NSE’s $175 million in annual sales, 350+ associates and two facilities: one in Springfield, Missouri, and the other in Joliet, Illinois. Since 2008, NSE has more than doubled its topline sales and today serves more than 450 vendors.

Additionally, Wilson helped pioneer a career pathways program that helps NSE associates identify career areas of interest so that management may provide resources to help them reach their goals. Since its establishment in 2018, the program has produced 4 internal promotions.

In 2014, Wilson’s passion for food security in the community led him to join the Board of Directors for the Ozarks Food Harvest (OFH). His experience in logistics and supply chain management supports OFH’s food distribution efforts.

Wilson is also a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shriner organization, helping to raise funds for 22 Shriner hospitals across North America. He also lent his time on the fund distribution committee for the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2018 to help distribute grants to local charities.

Mike White began his career with SRC in 2012 as a staff accountant at SRC Holdings. Over the past six years, he has obtained a Masters of Business Administration and was promoted numerous times (including a transfer to SRC Logistics in 2016) before rising to his current position as Director of Operations.

In his current role, White has oversight of SRC Logistics’s three locations and 120 employees. White has also served as a leader on the Ownership Culture Committee, a group dedicated to promoting the Great Game of Business® philosophy and practices among fellow employee owners. Since his move to SRC Logistics in 2016, the company has doubled their business and hired an additional 50 associates in the Springfield area.

White is a founding member and Vice President of Play for Springfield, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving southwest Missouri that raises money for local charities through sporting events. In the past three years, Play for Springfield has raised more than a combined $50,000 for Kadyn’s Krew, Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, Ozark Trails Council and other local nonprofits.

White also joined the United Way of the Ozarks’s Board of Directors in 2018 after leading fundraising campaigns at SRC Logistics for several years. He chaired the SRC company-wide campaign this past year and achieved a 5% growth in support over 2017. White also offers his accounting experience by serving on United Way’s finance committee.

SRC Holdings is honored to be represented by two outstanding associates and is proud of the continued reputation and dedication to the Springfield community our employee owners uphold every day.

The awards ceremony and reception will be held at the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center on March 21, 2019, at 5:30 pm. Tickets may be purchased through SBJ’s website.
